Frequently asked questions

How often is the gold price updated?

Prices refresh automatically every few seconds from live market data so you always see a current per-gram rate.

Can I see gold price in my local currency?

Yes. Choose any supported currency from the header. Rates convert from the live board so you can check gold and silver in AED, USD, SAR, EUR, and many other currencies.

What karat prices are shown?

For gold we show common karats including 24K, 22K, 21K, 18K, 14K, and 10K per gram, plus bar buy and sale prices. Silver shows standard fineness grades.

Is this only for the UAE?

The board is sourced for live Gulf market trading hours (GST), but you can display prices in currencies used worldwide — so searches for gold price in your country or currency still match.

What does 21K gold mean?

21K gold is 87.5% pure gold (21 of 24 parts) mixed with other metals for strength. It is a popular jewelry karat across the Gulf and Middle East because it balances rich color with durability.

What is the difference between 24K, 22K and 18K gold?

The number shows how many of 24 parts are pure gold: 24K is 99.9% pure and the softest, 22K is 91.7%, and 18K is 75%. A higher karat means a richer color and a higher price per gram; a lower karat is harder and better for everyday wear and stone setting.

How is the price of gold jewelry calculated?

Jewelry price is the metal value (weight × price per gram for the karat) plus the making charge, then tax on that sum. In the UAE, 5% VAT applies to jewelry while investment-grade 24K gold is zero-rated. Use the calculator on this page to estimate the total.
